Bickerton Holy Trinity Primary School raises almost £500 for Haiti earthquake appeal

CREATIVE pupils were flying the flag to raise almost £500 for the victims of the Haiti earthquake disaster.

Staff and children at Bickerton Holy Trinity Primary School donned the blue and red colours of the Haiti flag during a non-uniform day, while classes also made replica flags and wrote prayers.

An assembly was held by teacher Kate Boothby, during which the children were shown video clips and photographs from the earthquake-stricken country.

Headteacher Paul Sweetnam said: “Our children are very aware of the plight of others at this time and wanted to help. The day was a way of showing solidarity with people who have suffered so much.”
