BROWNIES in Chester have been helping to boost a TV appeal by designing hospital robes for children in India.
Youngsters at the 18th Chester Brownies group have been aiding Blue Peter’s Send a Smile TV appeal by designing and making unique hospital robes for children who are waiting for hospital operations to fix their cleft palates.
Girls collected T-shirts and turned them into colourful hospital robes using ribbons and paint to create patterns and flowers.
In India, children with cleft palates are often denied the operation to correct their deformity due to a lack of such robes. Hearing this, the Brownies were keen to do anything to help.
