Neston Town Council hold first meeting with newly appointed neighbourhood police team officer

MEMBERS of Neston Town Council held their first meeting to discuss crime-related issues in the town with newly-appointed Neighbourhood Police Team Sergeant Henry Platten.

The informal meeting between the council and the police was described by council chairwoman Moira Andrews as ‘a great opportunity to start a joint partnership with the emergency services in Neston to improve the lives of all those people who live, work and enjoy the town and surrounding areas’.

The meeting covered topics on CCTV, the development of the town centre, future opportunities for young people and that Cheshire West and Chester now has responsibility for parking enforcement.

Sgt Platten said: “It is important for all members of the community to work together.

“I'm delighted to launch the collaboration with the new town council, especially with innovative ideas to involve young people within the community.”

Sgt Platten extended an invitation to the town council to visit the police control room at Winsford and the CCTV monitoring station at Ellesmere Port.
