Halton Haven Hospice lines up fundraising events

AN EXCITING year of events for the Halton Haven Hospice community is on the cards for 2010.

Throughout the year the hospice – which provides palliative care for people in Frodsham, Helsby and Runcorn – will have a busy programme, including the annual Twilight Walk in July and an ABBA party.

Paula Widdas, head of fundraising, said: “With our new fundraising team on board and our five retail units all doing exceptionally well – even in a recession – 2010 is going to be an exciting year for us, and all who support us.

“We have two major events that we are currently working on, including our new Lets ABBA Party event which will be taking place on Sunday, May 2, at Norton Priory Walled Gardens, where by guests can take a picnic and watch the ABBA show under the stars.

“We are also holding our annual Twilight Walk, where we’re expecting hundreds of walkers again this year – we really want to beat last year’s target of 700 walkers.”

The Twilight Walk will take place on Saturday, July 3, and letters will be sent out in the next few weeks to all previous walkers and supporters of the hospice.

Anyone who wants to take part in the walk for the first time, or help out on the day, should ring 0151 495 2111 or visit the fundraising office above the Widnes shop.
