A COUPLE are celebrating 60 years of married life today (Thursday).
Blacon’s Skip Taylor set off in 1948 from Victor Street, Boughton and headed to Wales, determined to find himself a wife.
Just one week later, Skip met Nancy at a dance in Wrexham and a life-long relationship was under way.
Skip joined the Royal Air Force after the Second World War as his National Service. He then worked for British Telecom until retirement and recently received a medal for long service with the company.
The couple celebrated their diamond anniversary early with a weekend in the Lake District .
The occasion also combined Nancy’s 80th birthday celebration and was attended by their large family.
With three children, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one more great-grandchild due today as well, there’s no denying that family is very important to this loving couple.
Daughter Helen Williamson said: “Family is a vital part of their successful marriage. They are caring people who have always believed in communicating between each other.”
