Paul Laithwaite
A HUSBAND found dead with his wife at their countryside home was killed by a gunshot to his head.
But a postmortem examination carried out yesterday (Tuesday) was unable to establish how Paul Laithwaite’s wife, Jean, died.
Police officers discovered the couple’s bodies at Deeside House on Deeside Lane, Sealand, on Sunday evening.
Detectives have said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the double death, which rocked the close-knit rural community.
But they are still attempting to piece together the couple’s final moments, and investigations are ongoing.
North East Wales coroner John Hughes opened and adjourned an inquest today (Wednesday). Further tests will now be carried out to establish the cause of Mrs Laithwaite's death.
