SINGING school children entertained elderly residents at a care home in Frodsham.
The Year 3 pupils from Frodsham CE School, on School Lane, visited Hillcrest Residential Care Home on Wednesday, December 17.
Mrs Chris Trevor, assistant headteacher, said: “They wanted to do something for their community in connection with their topic on the Local Area. “All the pupils practised regularly in class with their music teacher, Cate Madden and the class student teacher, Miss Jenny Little.
“Many children also practised in their own time and this showed in their tuneful, lively renditions of familiar and new Christmas Carols and songs.”
Their songs had an international flavour – one song was an Italian lullaby and they sang one verse of Silent Night in its original German.
“The residents happily joined in with the Twelve Days of Christmas and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer,” added Mrs Trevor.
“The ladies in the audience were so appreciative, saying how much they had enjoyed the entertainment and hoped that the children would visit them again.”
