NESTON High School will be commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day with a minute’s silence and readings on January 27.
And as part of The Big School Read initiative they will be reading The Boy in The Striped Pyjamas, a novel about the Auschwitz concentration camp.
The aim is to encourage pupils and the wider community to consider the issues surrounding the story.
To get students involved the school is holding lunchtime reading sessions in the library where pupils who prefer to read as a group can listen to staff reading the novel.
