JOE McElderry may have won ITV’s X Factor 2009, but Scott Hulse is the man to watch in Chester.
Scott was named winner of The Piper pub’s own X-factor competition in Hoole.
Monthly heats towards the end of last year led to a final 12 competitors battling it out to win the title and share £350 of prize money.
Hosted by resident DJ Phil Hamilton, the competition was judged by Phil and Sharon Rees of Big Fun Entertainment, Jane Knight of MoneySupermarket, Jason Hughes of Lease Direct and the audience.
Runner-up was competition favourite Kristianna Rutter, followed closely by Robyn Reynolds in third place.
Money raised during the evening will go towards Chronicle-backed charity Miles of Smiles, which sends disabled and disadvantaged children on a trip of a lifetime to Disneyland in Paris.
Chairman Mick Hughes said: “The atmosphere on these finals nights at The Piper is always special and everyone joins in the party. We are hugely indebted to the management, staff and customers at The Piper who have raised almost £10,000 for the appeal.
“It's been a tough year for all charities and it's down to the likes of the support we get at The Piper that we can now be sure the money will be in place for this year’s trip in September.”Š
