CHARITIES could pocket a small fortune to mark the rebranding of a high street bank.
Staff at the Northgate Street and Foregate Street branches of the former Bradford and Bingley and Abbey in Chester are gathering support for chosen charities.
To celebrate the rebranding of the financial institutions as Santander, the Spanish-based bank launched a new charity scheme with £250,000 donated to charities across the country.
The Community Chest scheme was rolled out in 11 branches in Cheshire and Wirral, with a total of £2,750 for local good causes.
Until February 26 customers are invited to vote for favourite charities every time they visit a branch. The winning charities will receive a share of the cash.
