Cheshire’s Blue Planet Aquarium to appear on BBC TV children’s show

BLUE Planet Aquarium at Cheshire Oaks is featured on CBBC’s hugely popular Prank Patrol show this weekend.

The award-winning attraction was chosen during the summer as the location for one of the TV show’s most ambitious pranks ever.

Presenter Barney Harwood and his trusty ninjas descended on the aquarium, along with a special effects team, to transform the aquarium into an elaborate hoax.

And for one young man it was a visit he’s certain never to forget as his best friend gets her teeth into planning a shark-infested adventure.

Blue Planet’s Paul Renolds said: “The team spent two days preparing the prank. There were hidden cameras everywhere, false doors, amazing special effects and a cast of actors.

“It was so realistic that I didn’t recognise some parts of the aquarium and it was all very convincing.

“We don’t want to spoil the surprise for viewers but I think it’s safe to say the prank involves sharks and lots of water.”

Staff from the aquarium were also used as extras for the episode which will be broadcast at 9.30am this Saturday, January 16, on BBC 2.
