Missing woman from Delamere in Cheshire is confirmed dead

POLICE have confirmed a body found in an outhouse at Delamere Forest is that of local woman Lilian Timms.

Ms Timms, 57, went missing on Sunday, December 27, and was last seen by a shopkeeper after going to buy some food.

Cheshire Police, assisted by the Association of Lowland Search and Rescue discovered a body at Station Road, Delamere at midday on Wednesday (January 6).

A Cheshire police spokesman confirmed the body was formally identified on Wednesday evening.

A search was launched after Ms Timm’s family contacted police concerned because they couldn’t get in touch with her.

Police visited Ms Timm’s home and places she was known to visit but there was no sign of her.

When last seen Ms Timms had a laceration on her arm for which she was receiving antibiotics to offset the chance of infection.

Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
