Train travellers from Liverpool left stranded at Hooton station

HEAVY snowfall has led to train travellers being left stranded at Hooton railway station.

Merseyrail services were taking passengers from Liverpool to Hooton station but one traveller rang The Chronicle to say that once they arrived there, they were on their own.

“There are no trains currently running from Hooton to Chester and no bus service has yet been set up to transport anyone,” he said.

A statement on the Merseyrail website says

“The 08.12 Hooton to Chester service has been cancelled due to severe late running. The 08.30 Chester to Liverpool service will today start at Hooton at 08.44.”
