Blacon girl returns to home turf to launch her new business

A CHESTER girl is returning to her roots with an exciting new business venture in 2010.

Jane Mann was born Jane Webb in 1960, on Blacon Point Road, and was one of the first to attend Dee Point Infant School.

After following a career in accountancy for some 30 years, Jane has returned to Blacon to start a new career as a fitness instructor and personal trainer.

Pilates for beginners will start on Wednesday, January 13 at 6.45pm at the Dee Point Centre, now home of Blacon Community Trust.

Jane said: “Pilates is an ideal way to develop core strength, spinal stability and improve posture and flexibility – without getting up a sweat.

“It is suitable for all ages and abilities, and can help rather than hinder a bad back.

“I am hoping I might see some of my old classmates at my old school. I intend the classes to be relaxed, friendly and fun.”

Jane has also converted her garage into a private studio for personal training where she intends to specialise on ladies of a certain age.

Joanne Roberts, enterprise coach at Blacon Community Trust, said: “I am delighted that Jane has decided to set up her new business in Blacon and we wish her every success.”
