Vernon Kay congratulates Upton Slimming World consultant Sam Turner on success in organisation’s 40th anniversary celebration

RADIO 1 DJ and TV personality Vernon Kay has congratulated an Upton Slimming World consultant in the organisation’s 40th anniversary.

Sam Turner, who runs weekly groups at Upton Golf Club, on Wednesdays, joined other consultants from around the area to meet Vernon at an anniversary celebration in Birmingham to celebrate the achievements of the most successful slimmers.

Also in attendance was Slimming World’s founder and chairwoman Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE.

Sam said: “Meeting Vernon was a wonderful way to end what has been a fabulous ruby anniversary year.

“At my Slimming World group, we’ve had a great time celebrating throughout 2009 and we’re going to keep that buzz and excitement through 2010 so we can help more people lose weight and improve their health.”

Vernon said: “I’ve met a lot of inspirational people during my career, and Sam and Margaret are both just that – inspirational.

“It’s amazing to think that back in 1969 Margaret had a dream to help people lose weight and now, more than 40 years later, that dream is a reality with thousands of Slimming World consultants like Sam helping people to slim and achieve their own dreams every week.”
