Custom motorbike launched to help Afghanistan heroes

A MOTORBIKE fit for a hero is hitting the road to raise £1m for wounded soldiers.

The 2.3 litre Triumph Rocket 3 made its first appearance at Bill Smith's Motors, Tarvin Road, Boughton after having the finishing touches applied by the mother of a Merseyside soldier killed in Afghanistan.

Margaret Boote, whose son Steven, from Birkenhead, was killed in Afghanistan last month, hammered home the petrol cap, made from an Afghan Campaign Medal.

Matthew Falcon-Scott, one of the six-strong team at customisation specialists Custom Bill’s, in Ellesmere Port, who built the bike, said they were originally approached by the former Cheshire Regiment to build a bike, but couldn’t spare the time, but when Help for Heroes came calling they couldn’t say no.

He said: “People have given so much, even people who don’t have much.”
