CHESTER MP Christine Russell and councillors Reggie Jones, Marie Nelson and Alex Tate held a drinks reception at the Dee Point Campus to thank all the community volunteers, police officers, police community support officers, community wardens, teachers, and staff from the Housing Trust and Blacon Community Trust who work to make Blacon a safer place.
The highlight of the event was the return of a piece of Blacon history – an original maroon British Railways sign for Blacon station.Š
The sign had been given by an anonymous donor to Cllr Jones.Š
Mrs Russell and Cllr Jones presented the sign to the chairman of Sustainable Blacon, Steve Perry, who has led the environmental improvement project at the station site.Š
The sign will be restored to its former glory before it is given a permanent home at the old station.Š
With the weather worsening, Cheshire Police has published a short video for drivers. View it here Read
