Go Ape high-wire facility at Delamere listed the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 10 list

DELIGHTED owners of the popular high-wire adventure facility Go Ape are encouraging emerging business owners to take the plunge.

Tristram and Rebecca Mayhew, who founded the Delamere company in 2006, enjoyed huge success and have received many awards but they had cause to celebrate recently when they were included in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list.

The list includes some of Britain’s fastest growing private companies and it is the second time Go Ape has been involved.

Tristram said: “Rebecca and I created Go Ape as a lifestyle adventure rather than as a business. But it was a total surprise to us how much of an adventure growing a business can be.

“We now have a family of more than 350 talented people who have chosen to come along with us for the ride. We would encourage anyone who has a yearning to step out on their own to just do it. Now is always the right time to start, and if you can secure backing and make a venture work in tough economic conditions, then it can only be easier when the economy improves.”

Go Ape also won the Santander Small to Medium Business accolade at the National Business Awards 2009.
