Diamond couple from Waverton donate anniversary money too Tarporley War Memorial Hospital

A DIAMOND couple donated a village hospital the gifts from their special day.

John and Agnes Jones, of Guy Lane, Waverton, asked their friends and family not to give them gifts of thier 60th wedding anniversary but to donate money to the Tarporley War Memorial Hospital.

The couple raised £600 when more than 80 guests turned upfor thier party. Sister Claire Ellams from the hospital and and Liz Johnson from the hospital’s League of Friends visted the couple to say thank you for their fantastic fundraising efforts.

Agnes said: “The hospital have been so good to us and our children overthe years so we wanted to give them the money. Andrew Campbell and his father are our friends and looked after the family.”
