A Peckforton Castle donation helped buy a camera to watch over Beeston Castle’s peregrine falcons.

CHRISTMAS has arrived early for the peregrine falcons at Beeston Castle as they now will be watched over by a new camera.

Chris Naylor owner of neighbouring Peckforton Castle has donated £500 to the Beeston Peregrine Watch organisation to help replace their ageing camera. This money was added to a £500 donation by the Merseyside Ringing Group.

The new camera will be linked up to a monitor down below and will enable the Beeston Peregrine Watch volunteers to keep the nesting birds safe throughout their breeding period.

Bernard Wright from Beeston Peregrine Watch thanked all the people who had given up their valuable time to help keep watch over the peregrines, and especially to Janet and Bill at Home Farm Cottage for their hospitality to all the Peregrine Watch volunteers.
