A MALPAS author is hoping for an award winning New Year after reaching the final in an international novel competition.
Pamela Kavanagh of Mercer Close has been nominated for the second year in a row for the Red Roses for Authors Christmas awards for her novel Across the Sands of Time. Last year she was both nominated and won the award for her book The Touchstone.
This year her novel is up against nine other books from around the world. The finalist list is compiled by critics, but the winner will be decided through a public vote.
Pamela said Across the Sands of Time is a contemporary novel. “It is based in Parkgate but it has what I call historical slips,” she added.
The book was launched in September at the Tarporley book festival and Pamela said she has had some very good feedback .
She said: “People have been very positive and I am absolutely thrilled to make the final of the competition again. This year I find out after Christmas, so fingers crossed.”
Pamela writes every day, not only her novels, but she writes pony stories for children and teenagers as well as serials for magazines.
