FULL marks were celebrated at Helsby Hillside Primary School after they received 100% in English, Science and Maths in their SATS.
The school was one of several in the county to have all its pupils gain level four in the Key Stage two exams in each of the core subjects.
Helsby Hillside Primary School headteacher Craig Richardson said: “I think it is down to good teachers at the school, we have a very good year six teacher too.
“The staff work very hard and are very dedicated, they spend lots of hours preparing and planning and it’s paying off.
“We have developed a culture of having high expectations for the children, we expect great things and the children are living up to it.
“I am very proud. The school has a high profile in the community and getting results like these adds to the sense of pride.”
Despite joining the school in September, Mr Richardson says there is a strong community between the areas primary schools which he feels is a major benefit.
“Since I have started I have noticed there is a strong working relationship between all the schools to improve, which is great,” he added.
“In some ways were are all in competition but that doesn’t seem to be the case here, all the school are very supportive of each other.”
