Stars come out to mark beauty salon’s birthday

A CELEBRITY party was held to celebrate the first birthday of Helsby’s luxurious Rouge Et Noir spa.

Friends of Jude Cissé, who owns the pampering parlour, including Strictly star Ricky Whittle, Hollyoaks leading ladies Carley Stenson, Nathalie Emmanuel and Coronation Street actress turned glamour girl Nikki Sanderson attended the event at Liverpool’s Nobel House restaurant on Thursday night.

Jude, who is married to former Liverpool striker and France international Djibril, said: “I don’t think it’s been any more difficult than I imagined it would be, I expected it to be very hands on.

“I thought people might look at us as a WAGs place, I think people got that impression, so I took it up on myself to get out in to the community go to events and things and let people know what we’re really about.

“They are all top of the range treatments and luxury products but charged at affordable prices.”

Despite the recession hitting many businesses hard, Jude says the spa hasn’t struggled through the down turn.

“We still have all our staff!”

“It’s paying for itself and I think we’re doing really well.

“In the industry you have up and down periods, the summer time was really busy and Christmas time has been really busy, it’s all the party times.

“I believe in customer service, that’s what makes the business. Whether someone is spending £10, or £200, I value their custom.

“If someone isn’t happy I want to learn from that.”

Hollyoaks star Carley Stenson, one of the soaps longest serving stars who appears on screen as Steph Cunningham, said: “I go to the spa all the time.

“I went a few weeks ago with my mum and my sister for my birthday, they really looked after us.

“Every time I’ve been it’s been brilliant.”

Nathalie Emmanuel, who plays Sasha Valentine in the Chester based soap, added: “I haven’t been yet, I’ve been trying to get there but it’s difficult fitting it in with the filming schedule. I really want to go though.”
