SHELL UK’s 10 years of financial support for Cheshire’s Community Pride Awards has been recognised by award organisers Cheshire Community Action.
To celebrate the anniversary, CCA put together a commemorative booklet featuring memories of the sponsorship years.
It includes photographs of award presentation ceremonies and shots of the many villages involved in the awards.
There were also written endorsements from CCA officials, village representatives and judges who were involved in the decision-making process.
The booklet was presented to Shell public affairs manager Edward Brady by CCA chair Kathy Benn at a special ceremony at Stanlow Manufacturing Complex.
She said: “We have been very grateful for Shell’s support over the years. The Community Pride Awards, with Shell’s help, have been instrumental in keeping Cheshire’s community spirit alive and well.”
Thanking Mrs Benn, Mr Brady said the sponsorship was a delight to be involved with and he confirmed that Shell would continue its support into 2011.
He added: “The awards target the local environment, and they involve volunteering and self help. I can’t think of better reasons for giving our support. And I can’t thank CCA enough for their organisation over the decade.”
