THE Disney Store in Chester showed some festive generosity by donating toys to sick children at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
Staff at the Foregate Street store asked customers to sponsor a toy for sick children at Christmas and the kind donations from the public meant that enough money was raised to give more than 50 toys to the trust’s children’s unit.
The toys were given to children being treated on the ward as well as to their siblings.
The new children’s unit at the Countess has benefited from a complete refurbishment which creates a comfortable environment for children being treated and staff hope that this extra benefit will make their stay that little bit more comfortable at this time of year.
Countess fundraising manager Kate Taylor said: “I’d just like to say a huge thank you to all those people who sponsored a toy.
“It means such a lot to the families of the poorly children at this time of year and your generosity is much appreciated.”
