RESIDENTS are being urged to be wary of bogus callers during the festive period, after an elderly couple were targeted in Saltney.
Deputy mayor of Saltney, Cllr Veronica Gay, is calling for people to be wary and to make use of the North Wales Neighbourhood Police number for non-emergencies by calling 101.
The number can be used to report incidents of strangers acting suspiciously.
Cllr Veronica said: “The couple have had to leave their home as it is a crime scene.
“This sort of crime is cruel and heartless and I am sure the culprits wouldn’t want their parents or grandparents to be treated so despicably.”
