Saltney and Saltney Ferry hold successful inaugural Christmas celebration of lights parade

THE communities of Saltney and Saltney Ferry got into the seasonal spirit with its inaugural Christmas Parade event.

Four Saltney schools joined scout groups for carol singing on the High Street, performing in front of of 1,500 residents.

VIPs attending included Chester Lord Mayor John Ebo, Saltney mayor Ann Lloyd and Flintshire County Council chairman Cllr Colin Legg.

Father Christmas led the way in the parade down Saltney High Street, while the Saltney mayor led the other in a vintage bus.

Father Christmas delivered presents to children aged under 11, with the help of Cllr Lloyd, outside Saltney Social Club

Sponsors included Airbus, Lafarge, Morgan Ashurst, the town council, Londis, Farmfoods and rotary club.
