Helsby High School students visit Jaguar’s Halewood plant as part of Aimhigher Cheshire and Warrington event

JAGUAR’S Halewood plant welcomed students from Helsby High School to see a mass manufacturing plant in action last week.

The Year 10 and 11 pupils were given a presentation by education staff at the factory and, following a health and safety briefing, were given a tour of the historic site.

Vocational development officer Teresa Wong of Aimhigher Cheshire and Warrington, who work to widen participation in higher education by young people from under- represented groups, said: “This was a great experience for the pupils, which gave them the chance to see both engineering experts and the latest robotics technology at work.

“We are confident that they now have a much deeper understanding and appreciation of the manufacturing industry.

“We would like to thank you the Jaguar Cars staff for their presentation and talks.”

Following the tour of the plant the pupils returned to the education centre for a product design presentation.

The visit was organised by Jaguar Land Rover Education Business Centre, staff from the school and Aimhigher Cheshire and Warrington.
