Conservative MP Stephen O’Brien gives talk on democracy to students at Bishop Heber High School
STEPHEN O’Brien went back to school to give students an insight into the world of political democracy and life as a member of Parliament.
The Tory MP for Eddisbury also pledged his support to the plans around Bishop Heber High’s 50th anniversary celebrations – to be held next September.
A steering committee, led by former deputy headteacher Arthur Jones, is hoping to build a database of names of former pupils and wants members of the alumni to get in touch.
A school spokeswoman said: “The committee hope to organise events such as a formal church service, dinner dance, celebration activities for present and former students. It is also hoped to commission a piece of art or sculpture to mark the occasion.
“Stephen O’Brien hopes to attend some of the events and the school look forward to hearing from as many former students as possible so that they can all be involved in marking this milestone in the school’s history.”
Bishop Heber former pupils are encouraged to register with the school with assistant librarian Marilyn Brookfield on 01948 862021, the school office on 01948 860571 or by email at 50years@bishopheber.cheshire.sch.uk
