Chester Firs School pupils have work selected for publication in poetry anthology
CHILDREN are to see their own poems appear in a new book.
Pupils from the Firs School in Chester are celebrating after entering the Poetry Explorers competition.
Now, 28 Year 6 and 15 Year 5 pupils will have their work published in the Poetry Explorers anthology,.
Headteacher Margaret Denton said: “Pupils, staff and parents are proud and the pupils are looking forward to being published poets.”
The competition is run by Young Writers for children aged 7-11.
The competition also offers lesson plans and guidance for teachers to help children write the poetry as part of their English classes.
The anthology will feature poems from children all over the region and will be available from February 28.
