Dec 9 2009 Chester Chronicle
ICE sculptors from Glacial Art visited Chester during Fairy Day last weekend, producing a festive fairy in Eastgate Street.
A wand was frozen into a block of ice with the challenge to predict when the ice would melt and release the wand.
The closest prediction was made by Margaret Gregg from Guilden Sutton.
Margaret collected her prize of a Favourite Days out in Cheshire Passport from the Blue Planet Aquarium’s Paul Renolds.
The ice artists will be creating festive sculptures in Rufus Court this weekend (December 12-13) when there will also be an opportunity to try ice sculpting yourself.
The Ellesmere Port Winter Wonderland parade on Thursday, December 17 will have their own ice sculpture and the last opportunity to watch the artists at work will be Saturday, December 19 at Northwich Cross.
