Upton-by-Chester High School pupil goes to Downing Street to give Gordon Brown messages on climate change
STUDENTS have been sharing their views on climate change with the Prime Minister.
Upton-by-Chester pupil Tom Davies visited Gordon Brown at Downing Street on Monday, November 30, to hand in the students’ messages on climate change.
Tom Davies, lower sixth, Rebecca Stroud, Year 9, Jemimah Beardswood, Year 9, Beatrice Sutton and Heather Matthews, both Year 10, compiled a scrapbook of their messages and artwork on climate change.
Tom Davies travelled to London to represent the school.
The scrapbook was created during the Youth Climate conferences, organised by Oxfam, in Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and London.
Upton by Chester High School headteacher Jane Holland said: “Our students were thrilled to be involved in the Oxfam conference on climate change.
“Education on climate change is a high priority for the school and the kids are really passionate about it.
“It is great to work with other organisations to empower schools and children to take action on such vitally important issues.”
