TATTON Park is celebrating a £100,000 National Lottery award via the Arts Council Grants for the Arts scheme.
The cash boost will go towards supporting the second Tatton Park Biennial in 2010.
The award will enable Tatton Park to commission a series of emerging and mid-career artists and writers to produce new works examining the making of identity through landscape and architecture.
The event will be curated by Danielle Arnaud and Jordan Kaplan and supported by partners including A Foundation, Cornerhouse, Manchester Art Gallery and RSA Arts and Ecology.
The inaugural Tatton Park Biennial, in 2008, established Tatton Park as an outstanding site for a contemporary visual arts programme. The second will build on that foundation to make Tatton Park a strong component of what is becoming a national ‘tour’ of contemporary art-making alongside Liverpool Biennial, Manchester International Festival and other national and international biennials.Š
