Night Garden is theme for Chester city centre lantern parade
CHESTER streets were alight with a sea of handmade paper lanterns last Thursday night for the city’s second Night Garden parade.
Schoolchildren showed off their handicraft as they snaked their way from the cathedral, down St Werburgh Street, along Eastgate Street, down Bridge Street and up Northgate Street past the Town Hall Square.
Leading the parade was storyteller Steve Wallis who told the Night Garden story, a battle between the sun and the moon to create the best garden on earth.
Chester artist Russell Kirk created the lanterns in workshops in primary schools throughout the county.
