Frodsham’s annual Christmas Festival comes to town this weekend

CHRISTMAS is coming early in Frodsham with a festival and light switch-on this weekend.

Starting at 2pm on Friday, December 4, ice artists will begin work on a special Christmas sculpture in the High Street.

The festivities move to the Castle Park Arts Centre at 4pm with a Christmas craft market, Santa’s Grotto and reindeer.

Schools and bands will perform on the Castle Park stage between 4pm and 8.30pm and there will be tours of Castle Park House by costumed characters plus a small antiques fair.

The Mayor of Frodsham Geoff Bath will switch on the lights in the High Street at 6.15pm followed by a parade around the town at 7pm.

On Saturday the festival reopens at midday in Castle Park with a craft market which is open until 7pm.

Santa’s Grotto will be open until 4.30pm, more live performances will take place until 6pm and there is another chance to take a tour around Castle Park House and visit the reindeer from 3.30-4.30pm.

Main Street Community Church will be hosting a Christmas Journey, on Saturday, December 5, every hour from 1-5pm, a multi media presentation of the Christmas story.

It is a ticketed free event, for more information ring 01928 733208.

A special Frodsham Advent Calendar was launched this week featuring 24 numbered boxes hidden throughout the town’s shops and cafes.
