RESIDENTS of Chester’s Garden Quarter will be getting in the Christmas spirit this weekend.
The festive fun kicks off on Saturday when the headmaster of St Thomas of Canterbury Junior School Ian Newton, switches on the Christmas lights.
Mr Newton, who retires at the end of this term, will be accompanied by pupils from the school singing carols.
The Lighting Up The Quarter event begins at 6pm and the line-up includes magician Paul Dabek, vocal trio The Harmonettes and the winner of the University of Chester’s Uni’s Got Talent. The fun continues throughout the evening at The Bouverie.
On Sunday (December 6) Chester MP Christine Russell will open the Christmas Fair at Garden Lane Methodist Church at 2pm.
Carollers from Victoria County Infant School will entertain visitors in search of special gifts, Christmas goodies, Christmas trees and a grand raffle.
