A HOUSING Trust scooped the employer of the year award for Cheshire West and Chester.
Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) also won the Proactive Training & Support Award at last week's Cheshire West & Chester Council Workability Plus Awards.
The awards were held on Thursday (November 26) at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Chester before an audience of around 150 attendees from organisations, employers and training providers.
Dave Shaw, assistant director of customer & housing access at CDHT said: “This is a massive achievement and is fantastic news for us all. It reflects our vision, attitude and sheer determination to do more.
“It also shows what partner agencies really think of us through their nominations in these categories and what works well when CDHT works alongside partners like Workability Plus.
“The awards are a great opportunity to highlight the work of the many individuals involved, in particular Dean McGovern, Steve Tetley, Fiona Paterson, Dave Wrigley and Sue Cadwaladr.”
John Denny, chief executive of CDHT said: “If all housing organisations set a target that over 50% of their employees came from the communities they are committed to, we would all be in a better place.
“These awards demonstrate everything the Trust is about and our commitment to making things happen.
“They underpin everything that we have started with initiatives like Spark, the Pathways Team, Enhanced Housing Options and the Future Jobs Fund.”
Paul Barber, senior officer of Future Jobs at Cheshire West and Chester Council said: “CDHT excels in partnership working. It is an organisation that engages at a truly exceptional level.”
