MORE than 70 Bishop Heber High School students are set to follow the yellow brick road in their latest production.
The Malpas school’s sixth-formers are currently writing, directing and rehearsing for a two-night performance of the classic tale Wizard of Oz.
In true Heber tradition, some surprise characters will be making an appearance alongisde the traditional cast including Dorothy, Toto and the Wizard himself.
Organisers are promising the show, nicknamed The Revue, will be for all ages and not to be missed.
Co-writer/director and sixth-form student Owen Williams said: “Everyone’s getting into their role very well and those working behind the scenes are doing a great job too.
“We’re all having a laugh at rehearsals which is the main thing, and I’m sure we’ll be ready for the performances next week.”
The production of Wizard of Oz can be seen on Thursday and Friday, December 10, and 11. Tickets are now on sale from Malpas Library and money raised will be donated to the school’s charities and sixth form fund.
