Snooker star John Parrot saves a sportsmen’s dinner after original speaker Steve Davis fell ill

WORLD champion snooker player John Parrott stepped up to the table to save a sportsmen’s dinner after its original speaker Steve Davis fell ill.

Snooker sensation and pundit Parrot was a last minute replacement at the Rotary Club of Frodsham and Helsby’s sportsmen’s dinner at the Forest Hills Hotel, Frodsham, which raised a record figure of more than £7,500.

Spokesman Andrew Lawless said: “More than 170 guests attended representing companies, businesses and the community, plus club members and their personal guests.

“The Rotary Club would like to take this opportunity to thanks all those who supported the event, many of whom are regular supporters.”
