Footway improvements start on Monday to pave the way for new four-star Chester hotel

WORK begins on Monday (November 23) on foot way improvements along part of Nuns Road in Chester Chester.

The scheme – the latest phase of public realm improvements – will pave the way for the opening of Chester’s latest luxury hotel.

The 80-bed, four star Abode, part £50 million HQ development, is due to open in early April.

The works on Nuns Road are phase one of foot way improvements which will eventually include parts of Grosvenor Road and Nicholas Street.

Whilst these are underway Nuns Road will be closed to traffic travelling towards Grosvenor Road.

A diversionary route via Lower Watergate Street, Nicolas Street and Grosvenor Road will be established but traffic travelling in the direction of Lower Watergate Street will be unaffected by the closure.

All works are being critically phased to minimise traffic disruption whilst maintaining access to the city in the run up to Christmas.
