Elton resident tackles tumble dryer fire

A RESIDENT used a garden hose reel to tackle a tumble dryer blaze at a house in Elton.
Crews from Chester and Ellesmere Port were called to Glendale Avenue at 12pm yesterday (Thursday) after an electrical cable caught fire.
The fire service is warning that, although on this occasion it didn’t turn out to be a serious incident, residents must not attempt to tackle a fire and should instead evacuate the premises and wait for crews to arrive.
