Link-up to encourage tourists

CHESTER could link up with North Wales and Liverpool to encourage tourists to holiday in the region.

The prospect has been outlined by Cheshire West and Chester leader Cllr Mike Jones (Con, Broxton).

“We have an hourly train journey from London,” Cllr Jones points out.

“How do we sell to people in the South to come to Chester for the weekend or for a week’s holiday?

“We are talking to Liverpool about how we can create enough interest for people to come and stay for a two-week family holiday in this area.

“We have got so much that we can offer by way of entertainment and interest.”
