Encore for new song to celebrate Frodsham’s 800 year history

THERE was much to celebrate at St Laurence’s Church on Saturday night with the premiere of a song to mark Frodsham’s 800th anniversary of being granted a civic charter.

Frodsham 800 – We Live Here Still, composed by Matt Baker with lyrics by former Cheshire Poet Laureate Andrew Rudd, was performed by Frodsham and District Choral Society.

The audience enjoyed the song so much that the choir had to sing it twice.

The Let’s Celebrate concert, conducted by Howard Kane, was attended by Frodsham mayor Cllr Geoff Bath, who was presented with a copy of the new work.

The society will present a carol concert on Saturday, December 19, at the community centre.
