River Dee flood warning for Chester area

FLOOD warnings remain in place for low-lying communities in the Lower Dee valley, including Farndon.

This follows heavy rainfall on Sunday night and again on Wednesday with more predicted for today (Thursday).

An Envronment Agency spokesman, in a statement issued at 11am yesterday said: “A flood warning remains in place for the Lower Dee valley from Llangollen through to Chester. This means flooding of homes, businesses and major roads is expected to continue.”

River levels at Farndon were rising and expected to do so for the next 24 hours. There was a general risk of localised flooding due to surface water.
