Hats off to Cotebrook ski instructor

A COTEBROOK woman who has travelled the world as a ski instructor has designed the perfect head gear for her pupils.

Lorna Gibson has set up her own beanie hat business and is delighted the shop where she worked during her university holidays is now selling her hats.

The hats are already selling in ski resorts in New Zealand and she has had interest from ski shops in the USA.

The 26-year-old worked at the Hollies Farm Shop in Little Budworth during one of her summer holidays while she was at university and has built up a friendship with the owners. They have now agreed to sell her hats.

The former Tarporley High School pupil often spends half the year skiing in New Zealand and the other half in the states and pops home in-between. She said: “I have been skiing since I was very young, and became a qualified ski instructor in 2006. But I have also always been interested in graphic design.

“I started designing beanie hats, and with the help of business link started putting my plans into action.” In March she set up the business which she called Toots McSkibum which is a nickname she picked up on the ski slopes.

The Hollies Farm Shop will be selling the hats in their Christmas Barn.
