Delamere Bowling Club Golfing Society raises £1,850 for the Parkinson’s Disease Society

GENEROUS sports have raised £1,850 for charity.

Delamere Bowling Club Golfing Society captain Graham Welsh presented a cheque to the Parkinson’s Disease Society after a year of fundraising.

The money was raised through a variety of activities including a golf match and family bowls day.

Parkinson’s Disease Society Crewe and district branch secretary Sue Pickup accepted the cheque and said: “I would like to thank the society for their generous donation and for all their hard work and efforts.”

The money will go toward a range of activities to support members of the branch.

It has more than 100 members and meets in Crewe and Winsford.

The branch welcomes Professor Alan R Crossman, from Manchester University, on Wednesday at 7pm.

He will talk about research towards new treatments and a cure at St Michael’s Church Hall, Ford Lane, Coppenhall.

New members are welcome.
