Cheshire West and Chester Council senior officials organise Broxton Community Forum meeting as wind farm developers go head to head with protest group at Bishop Heber School

CONCERNED residents are meeting senior council chiefs, anti wind-farm campaigners and developers at a forum.

Members of protest group Stop Bickerton Wind Turbines will go head to head with officials from Banks Developments to deliver presentations about potential wind farm plans near the Sandstone Trail.

Cheshire West and Chester Council leader Mike Jones and fellow Broxton ward councillors Ann Wright and Neil Ritchie organised the meeting after a request was made by a village resident.

Banks Developments is currently monitoring wind speed and strength at a site on the Cheshire plain but plans have met with fierce opposition from residents.

Although a planning application has not yet been submitted, it is understood that five 125m wind turbines would be included in the plans.

The Broxton Community Forum meeting will be held at Bishop Heber School, Malpas, on Tuesday, November 24, at 7pm.
