Theatre legend Richard Eyre backs Chester’s bid to get Rose Theatre

AN ACCLAIMED stage and film director is backing our campaign to bring the Rose Theatre to the city – and says he will ring Dame Judi Dench to urge her to choose us.
Sir Richard Eyre promised to telephone Dame Judi to put in a good word for the city after his appearance at the 2009 Shell Chester Literature Festival.
As patron of the British Shakespeare Company, the actress is spearheading a search for a home for the replica theatre -created for the film Shakespeare in Love - in the north of England.
Sir Richard’s pledge comes as The Chronicle continues to receive hundreds of emails and letters in support of the campaign.
