Thomas Cook travel agents shop front on Bridge Street, Chester, catches fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called to deal with a blaze at the Thomas Cook travel agents on Bridge Street, Chester, in the early hours of this morning (Sunday).

The fire, which was reported just after 2.30am, was caused by an electrical fault in the sign on the shop front.

Officers put out the fire and removed the shop fascia and beams to prevent any further possible spread to neighbouring shops and to Chester's historic rows.

The full extent of the damage caused by the fire is not yet known.
