Chester Cathedral hosts Pilgrim Days for schoolchildren

CHILDREN from schools and Sunday schools across Cheshire have made a pilgrimage to Chester Cathedral.

More than a thousand youngsters, including pupils from Barrow and Great Budworth CE Primary Schools, visited the city centre church to find out more about its history.

The week-long activities were part of the cathedral’s Pilgrim Days and pupils took part in workshops including candle-making, handbell ringing and embroidery.

Headteacher of Barrow school Andrew Ramsden said: “Our Year 5 pupils had a very rewarding experience at the cathedral. They thoroughly enjoyed the day and got a lot out of it.”
